Guiding Eyes for the Blind (GEB)

In 1954, Guiding Eyes for the Blind was founded upon a simple and beautiful premise; to enrich the lives of blind and visually impaired men and women. Since that time, Guiding Eyes has graduated more than 6,000 guide dog teams.

Bill and Alice LeBlanc, of Pilgrim Church, have been active in raising and training guide-dog puppies for GEB for several years, and routinely bring the dogs to church as part of their training. Their latest puppy-in-training was Wheeler (he really was a puppy in this photo; he is much bigger now). Wheeler is a German Shepherd whose grandfather was the Grand Champion of the UK Kennel Club Crufts dog show, which is the largest dog show in the UK. Wheeler passed his training, and is now a breeding dog to sire other Guiding Eyes puppies.

GEB periodically holds evaluation meetings at Pilgrim Church.
