Our Privacy Policy

Last update: 17 November 2006

We care about you and your spiritual health and well-being. Part of that well-being is your privacy and sense of security, and we do not wish to compromise that privacy. This page gives our policies for how we handle personal information that is sent to us, and how we post personal information on this site.

[top of page] Information Sent to Us

Under normal circumstances, if you submit information to us, we will not give out that information to any outside organization without your express permission. However, you should always consider that any information that you send over the Internet is a public document. We do not control the connections between your computer and our server, and we have no way of securing the transmission of information over those connections. So please do NOT transmit confidential information to us over the Internet, either by email or through our webpage forms.

The bottom line is this: If you have a confidential matter to discuss, the safest course of action is to contact the church pastor by phone, or come by the church office in person.

The following specifics apply to unsolicited information that you send us over the Internet:

  • We will NEVER give out your contact information to telemarketers, “spammers”, or other bulk advertising solicitors.
  • Simple informational requests may be referred within the Church to someone who is appropriate to answer that question; therefore, your information request may be viewed by one or more church members.
  • Also, as a church we are interested in knowing who has attended our services or expressed an interest in us in the past. So we try to keep track of the folks who have visited us; however, we do not keep your name or contact information in a publically accessible computer or file.
  • If we receive information that leads us to believe that a crime has been committed, or that harassment or abuse is in progress, we may be compelled by state and/or federal laws to report that information to appropriate authorities.

[top of page] Information Posted on This Site

Our policy for posting information on this website is based on our concern for protecting the individuals involved. The following guidelines are used for all postings on this site:

  • We do not post telephone numbers or contact information for individuals other than Pilgrim Church staff members (that contact information is listed on the church contact page). For all other church members or friends, if you have a church directory, you can find the person you are looking for; if not, please contact the church office. The only exception to this policy is for publically-advertised events, where the contact is already listed in other advertising.
  • When we post photographs of church activities, we will NEVER give names, addresses, or other identifying information for any individual in the photograph without express permission from that individual.
  • We will NEVER give out contact information for minors on this site.
